Submitted!!

I have completed my project and submitted it!!  This was a fun final project and I know that I learned a lot about developing a lesson that I was giving without being in person.  It takes a lot of going over when you are not present to ask questions and have to anticipate any problem or question and have something prepared to help them find the answer themselves.  I sent the lesson out to 7 girls, 2 were my daughters and 5 were their friends.  I got 4 back (1 of which was NOT my daughter although her friends did!!  yes I am ratting her out!!)  My youngest did it unwillingly but I watched her do it without help and evaluated my lesson as I watched and reccorded her comments, difficulties, and also the good things she was finding.  All of the feedback forms came back with positive comments of how they enjoyed the Glog and the lesson.  One suggestion was to change the order of my slide presentation so the learner sees what they will be doing before reading what the requriements of the glog components were.  It made sense and I will be doing that if I get the opportunity to utilize this lesson again.  This was fun and I am glad for the opportunity to do.  I have put together every little thing and note together  because I may expand upon this and use it for the final portfolio that will need to be done

All my subjects were on Thanksgiving break as well.  I have now gotten results from the lesson and the feedback forms.  I will  be compiling the results and compiling the report and paperwork.  All the subjects said they enjoyed the tutorial and would be using Glog as a presentation tool in their futures as collegiate students.

I'm in IDT 510 and the assignment was to find a subject to observe as they evaulated and provided feedback on the tutorial.  I used my own for this assignment and had my daughter do it.  Got some good insight to changes to make and then sending it off to the girls to do!!  Have decided to send to them through the social media site Facebook as an attachment of the PowerPoint lesson that has the appropriate links needed.

To date I have completed:
* I have my 6 victims - undergrads from different colleges in different areas of study.
* I have my Glog prepared as their example
* I have my PowerPoint Presentation almost completed which will be the mode of instruction.  All partipants will be using the web to receive the lesson.

I am working on:
* evaluation/feedback form - a document or in online quiz format
* refining lesson plan to ensure completeness since I will not be present while the students are working on it
* deciding my transmission tool - wiki; facebook

final project

For my final project for IDT 516, I am going to do a lesson plan that will utilize Glogster.com. Glogs are online posters that can be used to present information from different sources all brought together in one place. A specific topic can be assigned and all parts of the glog will relate to that topic and be utilized in the presentation of that topic to the class. For this project though, I will not assign a topic but allow the learners to play with the glog to familiarize themselves with its abilities and being creative. Learners will choose a theme, insert graphics, motion graphics, photos with and without text and frames, text boxes, utilize effects, link to video, hyperliinks, uploading images, "grabbing" images, music or a voice recording. These posters are a great "set the stage" for a presentation and all of the links to whatever is needed or created from videos, to prezi's, to a written report can be linked and/or embedded.

1st posting

I am just trying this out to see if I am on the right track
